Always the hub of culture and unfiltered expression, TikTok wanted to do something unexpected for April Fools’ Day.

Khaled’s larger-than-life personality and positivity were the perfect fit for a campaign that celebrates individuality, self-love, and motivation—values TikTok is all about. The goal? Have fun, but also inspire. After all, Khaled’s all about spreading those “blessings.”

We kicked things off with a teaser video where Khaled dropped hints about his “big announcement.” His social media buzzed, building the hype. Then, on April 1, we revealed that Khaled was taking over TikTok for the day—and he wasn’t holding back.

The takeover was pure Khaled—motivational soundbites, a custom GIPHY library, and an in-app challenge that encouraged users to create. To make it even more interactive, Khaled went live on Twitter for an hour, answering fan questions and dropping truth bombs, Khaled style.

And to take it offline, we set up a 1-800 hotline where fans could call in and hear personal motivational messages straight from Khaled. It blurred the lines between digital and real-world interaction in a way only TikTok (and Khaled) could pull off.

This wasn’t just a prank—it was a celebration of individuality, positivity, and Khaled’s unfiltered wisdom. TikTok and DJ Khaled turned April Fools’ Day into something irreverent, yes—but also genuinely inspiring.
